The white-winged race is a true South Dakota specialty, nesting only in the Black Hills. I also have photos of the typical Oregon and Slate colored races below, both found in South Dakota, but note there are a lot of intergrades between races here (and elsewhere). I also have a photo of the "red-backed" race, from Arizona.
