My Favorite: A sandpiper with some pretty plumage patterns when they move through in the spring. The photo below is my favorite I have of the species due to the unique pose, that does a nice job of showing key identification features, including that drooped bill tip, the chestnut on the head, the barring on its underparts, and the relatively dull yellow legs (compared to a species like a yellowlegs). Taken on May 26th, 2014 near Madison, South Dakota.
