My Favorite: We have plenty of Wilson's Phalarope in South Dakota, both as a migrant and as a summer breeding bird. Red-necked Phalarope are but a uncommon migrant. They must be more common in the western part of the state, as that's where I see most reports. It's also where I saw the bird below, at LaCreek National Wildlife Refuge in southwestern South Dakota, on May 19th, 2016.
