What a gorgeous creature! We only saw White-cheeked Honeyeaters in one spot during our trip, but they certainly made up for it by being present in big numbers! While visiting Bongil Bongil National Park south of Coffs Harbour, we walked through scrub and tree vegetation along the coast, and these guys were...everywhere...feeding in and around blooming trees. Much of their time wasn't spent going after nectar, but in fly-catching, as they'd use the flowers or tree branches as a perch, and fly out and catch the scads of insects attracted to the flowers.
