Bee-eater species seem to be a favorite for world photographers. At least that's my feeling when going online to a photography forum or Twitter, because I often see Bee-eater photos posted from Europe, Africa, etc. However, this was my first chance to see or photograph an Bee-eater species. They were downright abundant in the Cairns and Port Douglas area, but all of my photo opportunities came from the farmland near Port Douglas, where they were hanging out on practically every stretch of fence in and around the sugarcane fields and pastures.
