There were multiple species of honeybirds that we only saw in one specific location, but they seemed downright abundant in that spot. One of those species was the New Holland Honeyeater. While visiting the Blue Mountains west of Sydney, we came upon a forest clearing where these guys were numerous. The were flycatching bugs at the woodland edge, landing on perches and flying out to capture insects mid-flight. Seems like they were doing pretty good too! In some of the photos below you can see bits of insect left in their mouth.
