Given my wife and son aren't birders, I try to minimize the impact of my birding during a family vacation. That means fitting in birding time when I can, such as going out early every morning while they sleep in. It also means grabbing micro-birding moments such as this one! We were visiting Dorrigo National Park, and my wife wanted to look in the visitor's center. I don't get a lot of visitor's center time at places like this, because I'd prefer to be out by the parking lot or surrounding area, birding! So while they were in the visitor's center, I grabbed the camera and walked around the parking lot. I'm so glad I did, because this was the only place during the trip where I got a chance to see and photograph this beautiful species, the Eastern Yellow Robin.
