Eastern Spinebill Photos

Acanthorhynchus tenuirostris

One of the most frustrating birds to try to photograph on our trip! Eastern Spinebill seemed to be relatively common in multiple areas we visited. But holy cow did I have a hard time photographing them. Hiding in cover, moving constantly...they seemed to be enjoying eluding my camera! Finally one morning I gave this guy a dedicated hour as he flitted between a few trees, and managed a few decent frames.
