Chestnut-breasted Mannikin (Munia) Photos

Lonchura castaneothorax

A beautiful little finch species, I saw them all over the place near Port Douglas. They were feeding on grass seeds in open pastures, but were damned hard to get close enough to for a photograph. These are the only photos I could manage. And yes, if you're wondering...the dark blob in the upper right is a cow pie. :-)
