I knew we were likely to see a number of Laughing Kookaburra on our trip (we did), but one species I was really hoping to also see was a Blue-winged Kookaburra. During our stay in Port Douglas we were staying at an AirBnB near the beach, and one morning when I headed down to the beach, low and behold, there were two of them hanging out on the fence railing of a nearby home. And thankfully, they weren't shy! Such incredible looking critters, glad to get a chance to see and photograph them.
