Australian Brush-turkey Photos

Alectura lathami

A common, but very cool bird that we saw pretty much everywhere we went on our trip. Some were in the thickest rainforest, while others were hanging out on the fringes of suburban gardens.  Known for their giant nesting mounds of vegetation that they manipulate to control temperature for incubating eggs, they are seemingly loved by many, hated by some for the damage they can do to a garden while they nest.
