Wilson's Phalarope Photos

My Favorite: The biggest challenge in bird photography is getting close enough to the birds to get a photo. One tool I use is a little chair blind, a small hunting blind with a folding chair with short little 6-inch legs, and a camouflaged clamshell that pulls over the top to conceal me when I'm inside. It works particularly well for shorebirds, as I can set it up right on the edge of a shoreline, and get extremely close, low-angle photos of the birds foraging naturally. This photo of a Wilson's Phalarope was taken with the use of my chair blind, on May 4th, 2014 in Minnehaha County, South Dakota.
