To me these are one of the most beautiful hummingbirds. It's not just that unique purple color, it's also the unique shape of the gorget on the males. The only place I've come across them is when we've vacationed around the Tucson area. In fact, nearly all the photos below are from one location in Tuscon, at Tohono Chul park on the north side of the city.
