On rare occasions I've had the opportunity to travel to Anchorage for work. When there, I try to do some birding, particularly if I'm there during the summer when the days are so long. Potter's Marsh south of Anchorage is a favorite stop, where you can find nesting Arctic Terns and Mew Gulls, along with other water birds. It's fun to watch the adults courting, with one catching a fish, and then doing a little performance and transferring the fish to the other adult. Taken on May 18th, 2014, with Canon 70D, 400 5.6L lens.
