It was VERY cool to see these two Arctic Terns on nest from only 15 feet away. I was watching the one bird on the nest when the 2nd adult came flying in, hovered a bit, and then dropped down and gave the other parent a small fish. It was only then that I saw the small head of the young tern pop out, and accept the fish. Taken on June 24th, 2006 on the Kenai Peninsula south of Anchorage, with Canon 20D, 400 5.6L lens.
