My Favorite: Red-naped Sapsuckers are a bird of the western US, but there is a permanent population in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Unfortunately I'm on the far eastern edge of the state and don't get out to the Black Hills that often. I have seen them in the Black Hills and have a few photos, but my favorite photo of the species was taken in Madera Canyon in southern Arizona.
