My Favorite: Red-breasted Mergansers aren't a species I see all that often, and when I do, it's typically a long-distance view. My favorite photo below isn't the closest photo in the world, but it certainly does a good job in capturing the courting behavior of the species. From April 14th, 2019 at Wall Lake in western Minnehaha County, South Dakota.
