Beautiful, beautiful birds. I've seen them on occasion while at Yellowstone National Park, and once saw a winter-plumaged bird in South Dakota, below the dam near Pierre. However, these photos are from a great, close sighting in Alaska on the Kenai peninsula, and from a group found along the coast at Haystack Rock, at Cannon Beach, Oregon.
