Cinnamon Teal are a species that I went 20 years without seeing in South Dakota. We live on the far eastern edge of the state, and they're just not generally found in the eastern half of the state. Then in the spring of 2020 I happened to find 2 within the span of a few days, in the far eastern side of the state. Birding is strange! Also note that from the photos below evidently you can only photograph Cinnamon Teal at western US National Wildlife Refuges on June 19th on years that end in "8". :-)
