My Favorite: I've been to Arizona probably 8 or 9 times now since 2000, mostly for family vacations, but also with a couple of work trips where I took a day of my own vacation time to bird. On most of those trips, I've visited Madera Canyon, a renowned place for birding in Arizona. One species high on my wish list has always been a Painted Redstart, but I've only seen them there on two occasions, and once was just a brief glimpse. Thus the only photos I have of the species are these not great photos from a trip in December, 2018. It was quite some distance away, and I got to watch it for 5 or 6 minutes, which was a real treat! Wish I'd have been able to get better photos, but...of course this just means I'll have to go back and try again someday soon. :-)
