My Favorite: Black-throated Blue Warblers are a special treat whenever you see one in South Dakota. I've only seen them on a handful of occasions, both in the fall and in the spring. The only photos I've been able to get in South Dakota was of a male in May of 2017 at Newton Hills State Park. However, my favorite photo of the species is the one below, taken during a family vacation in Acadia National Park in Maine in 2012.
