My Favorite: Warbler migration in eastern South Dakota can be spectacular. There are a few species that can be quite common in spring, and Black-and-white Warblers are one of those. However, they do...not...sit...still!! They have a reputation as the "nuthatch" or "creeper" of the warbler world, crawling over branches and tree trunks like those species. Thus despite all the Black-and-white Warblers I've seen over the years, I don't have all that many photos. I do like the photo below though from Newton Hills State Park...a male Black-and-white Warbler (you can tell by the broad black cheek patch).
