My Favorite: Bay-breasted Warblers are considered rare migrants in eastern South Dakota, and my records certainly back up that characterization. I went about 14 years between spring sightings, until finding this gorgeous male in May of 2019, at Good Earth State Park in South Dakota. I LOVE the plumage on these guys...so different than other North American Warblers. The next year, the spring of 2020, was even more spectacular, as I probably saw a dozen Bay-breasted Warblers! Some photos of them are down below as well.
