My Favorite: Some birds you identify based on a bold plumage pattern, a unique bill, or a unique body structure and shape. Some birds you identify because they lack any of those characteristics. Warbling vireos definitely fall into the latter category, as they present themselves as a small songbird without any bold plumage features. That doesn't mean they can't be darned photogenic! My favorite photo shows a pair of Warbling Vireos feeding on the fruits of an Eastern Red Cedar (juniper) tree. It's from Newton Hills State Park in September of 2014.
