My Favorite: A species that is found in South Dakota, but they're quite uncommon, and only found on the extreme far western edge of the state. That's a problem when I live on the far eastern edge of the state, a 6-hour drive away! I thus haven't seen the species in South Dakota, but fortunately I have seen and photographed them on a couple of trips to the western US. The photo below is from Alamosa National Wildlife Refuge in Colorado, in June 2018.
