I haven't seen many kites of any species, probably because all species are just extreme rarities in South Dakota, and I just haven't birded a huge amount in much of the southeastern U.S. In November of 2015 however I came across a beautiful pair of White-tailed Kites, soaring and foraging over the grasslands of Las Cinegas National Conservation Area near Tucson, Arizona. The pair were actively hunting as well, with captured prey visible in some photos
