My Favorite: One of my nemesis birds, they're a species I often see but I just can't get close to in South Dakota. I have several photos below, but most include a healthy dose of habitat in the frame, simply because I can't get close enough to get that frame-filling shot of a Northern Harrier, particularly for the males. My favorite photo is of the female in flight below, taken November 26th, 2008 on the Fort Pierre National Grasslands near Pierre.
