My Favorite : For a South Dakota guy, you wouldn't think a Greater Roadrunner would be a nemesis bird for me, given Oklahoma is about as close as they get to us here. But I do love vacations in the Desert Southwest, and despite all of those trips to Arizona, despite all the sightings of Greater Roadrunners over the years, the only photos I have are of this one bird, from the grounds of the Phoenix Botanical Gardens. He was too busy chasing little lizards to worry about the guy with the camera, although I wish he'd have given me some better poses. My favorite is this over-the-shoulder look at me, showing off that beautiful plumage and facial pattern. From December 2018.
