In a quick January trip in Yellowstone, I was observing a massive bull bison dozing in the 18-below temperatures when a lone Black-billed Magpie flew in and landed on its head. The big bull tolerated the Magpie for a few minutes, until finally chasing it off with a shake of its huge head. A brief moment during my trip, but it resulted in what's easily one of my favorite photos I've ever taken. This nice pose of the bird, the massive bull bison showing great detailin the fur and horns, and the steamy breath in the frigid weather all make the shot one I'll always remember. Taken with Canon 70D, 400 5.6L lens.
