Forster's Tern Photos

My Favorite: Forster's Terns don't ever seem to be the most common bird you see around water bodies in South Dakota, but there often do seem to be a few. Most of the time when I see them, they are in flight. My favorite photo is of one at rest, in some wonderful late evening light that also gave a nice eye glint (often hard to see the eyes on these guys, with that dark cap). From Lincoln County, South Dakota on May 3rd, 2017. The perch isn't ideal, but I love the rest of the photo.
