My Favorite: Lesser Goldfinch
are seen on rare occasions in western South Dakota, but the only time I've seen
them have been on trips to the southwestern United States. The photo below of a
Lesser Goldfinch feeding on "desert broom" seeds (think that's what this plant
is called) was taken at Tanque Verde Wash in Tucson, Arizona, in November of
2015.
