My Favorite: A species from the southwestern U.S. that I'm actually quite familiar with, given all our vacations in Arizona. There actually have been sightings of White-winged Doves in South Dakota, especially in recent years (hello global warming?), but Arizona remains the only place I've seen them. The photo below is from May 2008 on the outskirts of Tucson.
