My Favorite: Sometimes in winter, the ONLY splash of color I ever seen in my yard are Northern Cardinals. It seems that ever since we built this house, we've had a pair that shows up religiously towards dusk. The photo below though is from "Ditch Road" in Minnehaha County, South Dakota.
