My Favorite: Yes, European Starlings are not exactly the most beloved bird in the United States. But you can't deny they really are beautiful birds in the right plumage and light. The photo below is from a winter-plumaged European Starling feeding on the fruit of an eastern red cedar tree, with a gorgeous autumn foliage coloring the background.
