I always do a double-take when I see a Long-billed Curlew. It looks like something designed by a 4-year old with a crayon, with that long bill. I don't get to see them very often, as they're only found in the western half of South Dakota. On a recent trip to LaCreek National Wildlife Refuge, I was lucky enough to run across a group of 3 of them, foraging in a grassland.
