Area #2 in the Lake Thompson Area. As Lake Thompson filled in the late 1980s, it flooded large areas of shelterbelts and other trees. These areas exist not only on Lake Thompson, but in many of the surrounding lakes as well. They have often supported breeding colonies of birds such as egrets and cormorants, and are a great place to look for observant Bald Eagles, Osprey, and the occasional Peregrine Falcon.
