Sandhill Crane

This adult Sandhill crane, as well as it's mate and a young colt, were on a large sagebrush and grassland flat above Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park.  As dry a habitat and as far from water as you'll find in the Park, but yet these cranes were obviously utilizing the area.  Taken with Canon 20D, 400 5.6L, on August 8th, 2007.
