Black Bear

I include this photo not because of the merit of the shot, but because this is typically how you see bears in the Greater Yellowstone area...from a good distance.  There was a very large crowd in the watching this guy work his way through a large berry patch in Grand Teton National Park.  Most of the time, you'd only see an ear or two sticking up, or perhaps a bit of his back, but every once in a while you'd get a better look at him.  Good views with binoculars or a spotting scope, but too far away to get a decent photograph (although it certainly didn't stop everybody from trying, including me!).  Good photograph or not, still a lot of fun to watch this guy.  Photo taken on August 7th, 2007 with Canon 20D, 400 5.6L.
