Microbial Mat - Midway Geyser Basin
This is looking towards Grand Prismatic Spring, in the Midway Geyser Basin. There's massive amounts of runoff from the springs in this area, resulting in these extremely large areas of colored bacterial mats. Taken August 5th, 2007 with Canon 20D, 17-40L.
