Ledge Geyser

Ledge Geyser is the feature in the foreground, with Black Growler Steam Vent shown spouting hot steam in the upper left part of the image.  Ledge Geyser is the largest geyser in the Porcelain Basin (adjacent to Norris Geyser Basin), spouting eruptions up to 125 feet high at a 40 degree angle, resulting in water hitting the ground up to 220 feet away!  It is very irregular though, as are many features in the Norris area, and goes dormant for long periods of time.  Photo taken with Canon 20D, 17-40L.
