Red-necked Grebe Photo

This photo of a Red-necked Grebe was taken on June 24th, 2006 just outside of Anchorage, Alaska.  There were 2 nesting pairs in this lake, one with a nest only 15 yards from shore in some floating vegetation.  Each adult would periodically cruise by to check me out.  Couldn't have asked for a more cooperative bird, or better early morning light.  Photo taken with Canon 20D, 400 5.6L.
