Bald Eagle Photo

This photo of a mature Bald Eagle was taken on January 1st, 2007 below Gavin's Point Dam near Yankton, South Dakota.  Winter may be bleak for birds at times around here, but at least you know you can always count on these guys in certain locations in the winter.  In fact, one heck of a lot of my eagle shots are from this very tree!!  There were at least a dozen below the dam this day, and I ran into at least a dozen more around the James River on the drive back home.  Taken with Canon 20D, 400 5.6L lens.
