This portrait of a Bald Eagle was taken December 15th, 2002, below Gavin's Point Dam. There's a cottonwood just across the dam on the Nebraska side that just about always has Bald Eagles in it during the winter. Notice I used the plural...I've seen as many as 8 in this one tree at one time!!! This guy was by far the most cooperative individual bird I've had there though. Never in my life did I think I'd be able to get a photo like this of a wild Bald Eagle. Taken by digiscoping, with Swarovski AT80 HD scope, Nikon Coolpix 4500 digital camera.
