I've had a very hard time getting close to Prairie Falcons when and where I normally find them...on the Fort Pierre National Grasslands in the winter. Many years of trying yielded just the top 4 photos on this row. Then in the summer of 2011, I took a trip to the far northwestern corner of the state in Harding County. I was fortunate to find a nesting area in some high bluffs, and two recently fledged young. All the rest of the photos other than those on the top row are from that one very memorable day.
