Second-year Orchard Oriole

This photo of a second-year male Orchard Oriole was taken on July 5th, 2009 in Kingsbury County.  When I first saw him, I had no idea he was an Orchard Oriole, especially a male.  It takes a couple of years for Orchard Oriole males to reach their full adult plumage, and in their 2nd summer (just over a year old), they have the basic coloring of a female, with a black throat.  Photo taken with Canon 50D, 400 5.6L.
