Harlequin Duck Photo

This photo of a Harlequin Duck was taken on June 22nd, 2006 near Soldatna, Alaska.  I was doing field work for my job with the USGS, and came across this guy sitting in the middle of a fast-moving river on the Kenai Peninsula.  Very cooperative little guy, and a real treat to see one so close.  Photo taken with Canon 20D, 400 5.6L.
