Great Blue Heron Photo

This photo was taken on August 1st, 2003, at the Madison Waterfowl Production Area.  On this very hot summer day, there were a few dozen mixed wading birds working the shallows, including Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, and Green Herons.  This is a juvenile Great Blue Heron.  I loved the intense yellow eye on this guy..  Taken by digiscoping, with Swarovski AT80 HD scope and Nikon Coolpix 4500 digital camera.
