Ferruginous Hawk Photo

This photo was taken on February 16th, 2004 about 5 miles southwest of Presho.  The "game farms" where hunters pay to come in and shoot pheasants are just awesome for getting raptor shots.  This little spot is well worth a 3 hour drive for me, as I've seen Gyrfalcons, Bald Eagles, Golden Eagles, Ferruginous Hawks, Red-tailed Hawks, Rough-legged Hawks, and Northern Harriers, all in this one spot, and occasionally ALL in one day!!!  Taken by digiscoping, with Swarovski AT80 HD scope, Nikon Coolpix 4500 camera.
