My favorite photo is of a Short-eared Owl, taken on the Fort Pierre National Grasslands. This photo of a burrowing owl is only about 3 miles from the location of that shot. There are remarkable similarities in the photo series of the two birds, with both of them circling me with heads turned towards me as I shot them. LOTS of fun!! This one was taken on July 4th, 2006 on the Fort Pierre National Grasslands. Taken with Canon 20D, 400 5.6L lens.
