Rusty Blackbird Photos

Photography by Terry Sohl

My Favorite: Rusty Blackbirds have been in a serious decline in recent decades, and I don't see them all that often in South Dakota. When I do, it's typically as a few scattered birds amidst much larger flocks of other blackbirds.  I had one great chance to photograph one in it's unique "rusty" plumage in 2006, up in Lake County, South Dakota.
